I was shocked and very upset
to hear that WJJZ is no longer a smooth Jazz station. The more I
think about this the more I feel as though I can pull this off.
I am trying to find out I (though my resources are limited) can
start a jazz station of my own here in Philadelphia. It is not
an easy task I would like to speak to Michael Tozzi personally
to find out what steps need to be taken to do this. I really
love Jazz and for Philly not to have a station of its own is
just criminal... Laura H Miller

Hi Gerald,
I have a concern that I want to share with
you. Recently the Delaware Valley has lost the only smooth jazz
station (I believe there has ever been
– since 1993). That station kept
us up to date as to when you would be in the area so we could
support you and your fellow musicians. My husband and I as well
as our friends went to see you at Smithbridge Cellars, to Penns
Landing to Zanzibar Blue we even spoke with you at the Hotel at
Reading this past July). Have you given any thought or discussed
with your musical counterparts how can this void be filled? How
will you and others promote your music, new CD's etc in our
area? How will our young ones get in touch with the "music"?
Wilmington, DE is waiting for you to start your own station, and
share with the Delaware Valley.

I played the acoustic guitar
when I was 10 years old until I was 12. I quit playing because I
became involved in sports. I turned 40 in April and I will be
buying a bass guitar this weekend. I will have to practice a
lot, but in those 30 years that have passed, my passion for
playing never went away. Everytime I'm in my car and I hear a
song, I always adjust the bass volume to the max. Thank you for
your inspiration! I would love to come to your boot camp in
March '07.

Hello Mr. Veasley, I come to
you as a student wondering if I could get some feedback on the

input would be greatly appreciated.

the possibility of creating an instructional DVD. Beside being

Dear Gerald, My husband love to play
the bass. He is the bass player in our church. He has a walnut Ken
Smith. He says that he would like to take out the jucie on that
bass like it's suppose to. I think he plays great but he says that
he would love to go to a school to learn techniques. What he knows
is becuase he is a good listener and because God gaved him the
talent. Looking in the website I found out that you recently had a
bass boot camp. (This would have been great for him to go!!!!)
When will you have another bootcamp? Do you know of any other
place where he can be taught the basics for a week or weekend???
Thanks for your time in reading my email. Hope to read from you
soon. God bless your talent.

dear gerald I am a good friend of
your wife roxanne and i was recently with her to help celebrate
her birthday thursday. I have a son who is a self taught pianist
and aside from him creating his own songs he has a true love for
jazz. His name is Riyad and at 10yrs old has managed to not only
play from memory he constantly adlibs and composes his own songs
without even trying. He has had some training because I felt it
necessary that he learn to read music but I feel that he needs
some other type of training leaning more to jazz as opposed to
classical. roxy has told me about your boot camp but I wanted to
know aside from bass players is there any chance of your camp
extending out more towards children intrested in the piano. If not
could you help me find an affordable teacher in the jazz field
preferably a male teacher to help my son grow in this talent he
has been blessed with.

I don't know how it came to be that
we never met. I'm 49 years old and I'm a friend of Webb Thomas'. I
knew Jamaaladeen when he Rudy. Jamaaldeen and I both played with a
guitarist from North Philly back in the day named Joey Jones. My
band was called Red Sun LTD. Jamaaladeen was nice enough to let me
sit in when he was playing at Warm Daddy's (I play the bass too!)
Webb let me listen to the rough cut of the recording you guys made
with the bass quartet in Germany (May 2005). Hopefully one day
you'll get to hear me play. Peace.
